The neighbourhood is extreemly suitable for long bikerides or hikes, canoeing is also possible. A tour of the province will take you through some beautiful vistas and historical places. You can reach the coast within an hour, where you'll find places like Delfzijl and Termunter. Here you can enjoy some fine fish dishes.
